Helpers wanted!

Thanks to everyone for saving energy in your university residences this year!

You managed to save an amazing 2000 tonnes of C02 and submitted well over 1000 photos, so a big well done to everyone. Student Switch Off kicks off again with a new batch of students in September so it is time to leave Student Switch Off!

If you’d like to carry on your great work from last year why not consider the following:
1. If you’re interested in helping out at Student Switch Off events next academic year then drop us a message with your e-mail address and we’ll be in contact in a few weeks time. We should be able to pay for your time (either in money or Ben & Jerry’s vouchers!)
2. If you want to get more involved in making your campus more environmentally friendly, get involved with People & Planet’s Going Greener Campaign. It aims to create a low-carbon education sector that reduces emissions. Check it out!
3. If you want to improve your CV with a free training session providing sustainability and leadership skills check out details of NUS EcoTeams training sessions taking place across the country over the next few months run by the NUS and Global Action Plan. Book asap to reserve your place.4. To join 100,000 others in the country’s main climate change campaign of 2010, go to the 10:10 website where you can pledge to reduce your carbon emissions by 10%this year.

Thanks again for all your support over the last year and we hope you take the energy-saving actions encouraged by the Student Switch Off from halls into private accommodation to save yourself loads of money, time and carbon.
Cheers and good luck!
Harry and the Student Switch Off team! x
